A Child Of The Jago

My visit to A Child Of The Jago

''THE DESTITUTE AND ILLEGITIMATE PROGENY OF A HOPELESSLY RUNDOWN ENVIRONMENT''

THE CLANG OF THE BELL THAT SHATTERED THE AIR AS THE DOOR CLOSED BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES OF MY TRIP TO LONDON DUNGEONS AS A CHILD. WONDERING THROUGH THE SHOP I WAS WAITING TO SEE AN OLD ENGLISH GUY WITH A CLOAK AND A WART STICKING OUT FROM THE END OF HIS CHIN. INSTEAD I WAS GREETED BY TWO CHINESE GUYS DRESSED HEAD-TO-TOE LIKE THEY WERE FROM AN OLD ENGLISH-MEETS-RETRO CIRCUS.

I SENSED THE SMELL OF MURDER AS MY CURIOUS EYES WANDERED, INTRIGUED TO FIND OUT MORE TO WHAT THE SHOP HAD OFFERED ME SO FAR. COMBINATIONS OF OBJECTS TEMPTED ME TO TOUCH AND MEANDER THROUGH THE SHOP.

KNITTED AZTEC VINTAGE TRIBAL CHINESE SHOES AND BOWLER HATS WERE THE LINE UP. I WAS EAGER TO SEE MORE BUT HELD BACK, AS CURIOSITY DID KILL THE CAT.

FEARLESS I WALKED DOWN STAIRS TO THE BASEMENT AND CAME FACE TO FACE WITH A WILD BORE. SHIT, I SCREAMED, NOTHINGS TO O.T.T FOR JAGO. LITTLE CUBBY HOLES HELD MORE VINTAGE JACKETS AND SHIRTS ON A VINTAGE RAIL.

THE DEEP RICH RED PAINT INTENSIFIED THE ROOM REFLECTING THE DATES BACK TO THE PERIOD OF QUEEN ELIZABETH TIMES, LEAVING AN OLD VICTORIAN VIBE IN THE MIST.

WHY VISIT LONDON DUNGEON WHEN YOU CAN GO TO A CHILD OF THE JAGO AND GET A REAL TASTE OF THE VICTORIAN AMBIANCE, WITH THE ADVANTAGE OF AMAZING CLOTHES.
