Miley Cyrus & Joan Jett Duet on 'Oprah'

Miley Cyrus and Joan Jett take the stage and perform together on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday (April 13).

The 18-year-old teen queen did a medley of the rock legend’s biggest hits including: “Bad Reputation,” “Cherry Bomb,” and “I Hate Myself.”

The Oprah episode was dedicated to the Rock Goddesses of the ’70s and ’80s and featured appearances from Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, and Avril Lavigne.

Avril Lavigne Rocks the "Tonight Show”

Her new album Goodbye Lullaby hit stores earlier this month, and last night (March 14) Avril Lavigne was in the house at “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” for a very special performance.

The “I’m With You” songstress rocked her new hit “What the Hell,” sporting some uber-geeky eyewear and multi-colored tresses.

In related news, Avril recently took to her Twitter page to let her fans know she was getting a new tattoo.
She tweeted, "Girls day!!!!!! Listening to my new record with my girls and catching up,” followed by, “Uh-oh girls day turning into girls night ... Should I get a tattoo???? Haha.”

From there, she began hinting at what the tattoo would be. "It's comes in handy all the time, it can hurt you, but at the same time keep you together, safety first!"

Avril Lavigne Takes On Ke$ha's “TiK ToK”

Her new album Goodbye Lullaby hit stores and online retailers today (March 8) and Avril Lavigne had a special surprise for her UK fans.

This morning, the “Complicated” songstress hit up the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for a killer live performance.

Ms. Lavigne sang a cover version of Ke$ha's breakout hit “TiK ToK” with a more subdued acoustic feel to it.

She tweeted, “Thank you to my little black stars for being up so bright and early with me to support the #Goodbye Lullaby release.”

Some singers do covers that amaze us, some do and then make us go pout.

Avril Lavigne has shown her version of Tick Tock on BBC's Radio One Live. The 26-year-old singer's semi-acoustic and  "complicated" rendition of Ke$ha's
track has bordered between rapping and karaoke singing. Well, she seems to enjoy every second of her performance. Give it up to her.

Her Album "Goodbye Lullaby", which shuns away from mainstream pop and features a more "stripped-down" sound, drops today. (March 9)

An unusually smiley Avril Lavigne heads back to her hotel in central London after appearing on the breakfast TV show "Daybreak". Avril is in town with boyfriend Brody Jenner to promote her new album. (Pacific Coast News)

Avril Lavigne’s siblings weren't exactly encouraging when it came to her singing during their childhood. The songstress says her brother and sister used to tease about her but her mother was always very supportive.

She admitted: “My brother used to knock on the wall because I used to sing myself to sleep and he thought it was really annoying. My bother and sister used to make fun of me and say when I sang, my nostrils would flare.”

The 26-year-old star says her mother always believed she would become a singer and even nicknamed her “little songbird”. She explained: “My mom said when I was two I came back from church singing ‘Jesus Loves Me’ and she said that she knew I was going to be a singer then, she called me her little song bird, so yeah, I always wanted to be a singer.”

Avril Lavigne releases her new album Goodbye Lullaby on March 7.

The “Complicated” songstress, who is dating Brody Jenner, explained to Maxim magazine that while she may not come off traditional initially, she likes things a certain way.

"I like a classy man, a gentleman who opens the door and gives flowers and always puts the lady first. I'm a little old-fashioned like that."



As for her secret for avoiding the pitfalls of her peers, Avril shared, "I got here on my own. I came from a small town and grew up in a regular home. I know what I've worked hard for. Absent from the Sin City fete was Avril's boyfriend Brody Jenner - which adds merit to reports that the seemingly inseparable couple have hit a rough patch.

A source told Star magazine, “They had a major falling out around then and haven't seen each other since. Brody says Avril wasn't really making time for him anymore, since she's been under pressure to get into the studio to work on her new CD.”

The insider adds, “Brody hopes they can patch things up once she's not so busy. He wanted to marry her.”
