Prince Ordered to Pay $3 Million for Pulling Out of Concert

Prince canceled his sold-out appearance at in Dublin just 13 days before it was due to take place back in 2008. He gave no explanation, leaving promoters MCD facing the bill to refund 55,000 tickets.

The company’s owner Denis Desmond took legal action against the singer, and the case went to Dublin’s Commercial Courts in February 2010, where it was settled after a four-day hearing. The musician’s legal team agreed to pay over $2 million in damages and almost a million dollars in legal costs.

However, the sum was never paid by the initial March 2010 deadline and Denis and MCD were then granted a European Enforcement Order Certificate allowing them to pursue Prince’s assets under EU law.

In documents obtained by the Irish Times newspaper, MCD have received a preliminary attachment of approximately $957,000 held in bank accounts by the 52-year-old singer in France and Portugal but have received no money from the star.

The businessman has now filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court to allow him to pursue his assets in the US to cover the initial settlement fee plus eight percent interest on the original sum which would add a potential $240,000 to the total figure.

If the court rules in the company’s favor then MCD could potentially try and seize Prince’s family home in Minneapolis and his personal wealth.

Beyonce Knowles is looking forward to starting a family and insists she can be a good wife and mother while maintaining her successful career.

She said: “I have so much admiration for women who are mothers, who balance family and work. I see them and I have this word in my head -- respect. I also look to learn. I see these women and I think, ‘Yes, it can be balanced, it can all work out.’ I do believe that it’s possible to have it all – work, a career, babies… It’s all a question of being very organized. That’s what I’m getting my head around.”

Although she wants to have it all, Beyonce also likes the idea of being a stay-at-home wife to spend quality time with her husband after previously taking a brief career break and enjoying the experience.

She told Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “I took a year off and I even did some cooking, although I didn’t really enjoy that. I’m not the greatest cook -- I can do things with oxtail, though. It was great just having the time to be a wife rather than this non-stop traveling career girl.”

Justin Bieber turned 17 yesterday, and he spared no expense while spending the weekend at the St. Regis Monarch Beach hotel in Dana Point, California with his rumored love interest Selena Gomez.

A source told website HollywoodLife.com: “For the most part, Justin and Selena wanted to be left alone. They didn’t have bodyguards or parents with them, but there was an emergency contact list at the front desk with numbers for a bodyguard and some of their people’s info if they needed it in any way.”

The Presidential Suite where they stayed comes with a butler on call, two bedrooms, a dining room to seat 10, a private balcony overlooking the ocean and a hot tub.

Despite their lavish surroundings, the couple -- who went public with their romance at the Oscars on Sunday night -- were seen enjoying a romantic dinner at the nearby Stonehill Tavern.

During the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, Justin and 18-year-old Selena shared a kiss, confirming their relationship.

Although the pair are yet to admit they are together, Disney star Selena recently confessed she has strong feelings for the pop star.

She said: "I love him. He's been in my life a very long time. He's my friend.

"I think it's awesome people are interested -- I don't understand why."

Emily Blunt landed her first movie role when she was 20, so she never pursued any higher education. As a result, she thinks she missed out on the chance to learn about life and make mistakes away from the public eye.

She said: “I just wish I’d had that experience and that time to really mess up, and to be around fellow people who had no idea that they were throwing caution to the wind.”

The 28-year-old screen beauty -- who is married to actor John Krasinski and was previously engaged to Michael Buble -- admits she has made bad decisions trying to keep up with other stars, and is grateful to have settled down with someone who makes her feel fulfilled.

She added in an interview with The Times newspaper: “When you’re attempting to grow up at an accelerated rate, in order to have some kind of acceptance among your peers, I think you’re dancing as fast as you can sometimes.

“I feel like I’ve been on a big learning curve. I’ve messed up and I’ve arrived out the other end.

“And I’m lucky to have ended up with John and to realize that relationships don’t have to be an endurance test.

“I feel personally fulfilled right now, and lucky enough to have in John someone who is truly comfortable in his own skin and truly knows who he is.”

And it sounds like her friends are very concerned about the direction the “Ain’t No Other Man” singer’s life is headed.

A gal pal told press, "She's not being honest with herself. She's saying she's this strong independent woman and she's fine, but what she's not stepping back to realize is that moving on after a divorce is not easy."
"She thinks she's gotten her life together and has already moved on, when maybe she still needs to process it some more."

Another inside source is worried that Matthew Rutler is bad news for Christina. "There's a real concern about this guy, and a lot of her friends feel she needs to get away from him. Hopefully, what happened [on Tuesday] is a real wake up call."

"She is going out more and drinking more. She feels she is embracing her freedom and enjoying life … but now friends are hoping that she takes a step back and focuses on herself for a while."

Always a draw wherever they go, the ladies of Victoria’s Secret premiered the new VS “Incredible” line earlier today (March 1) in New York City.

Lily Aldridge, Erin Heatherton, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Chanel Iman dazzled in skin tight dresses as they posed for pictures ahead of the event at the lingerie giant's SoHo boutique.

And with the springtime season right around the corner, the beautiful Adriana Lima revealed some helpful tips for choosing the right bra.

For example, when wearing a T-shirt, Lima suggests a smooth, seamless bra so lumps and seams will not be seen. She also recommends staying away from lacy bras when wearing tight tops.

To avoid sloppy straps, Adriana likes a racerback bra. This way, the straps won’t fall out of place and will stay out of view.

The former “Girls Next Door” babe looked absolutely fabulous in a low-cut black dress as she made her exit.

And though she’s known for her Playboy past, Kendra says she won’t be getting too racy in the upcoming DWTS season.

"I can't look too sexy, that's the key, you know. I'm already known as the Playboy girl, I can't go out there and do that! I have to be ABC appropriate!"

"I'm most nervous about the ballgowns. I couldn't even walk in my wedding dress. I mean, I could walk in skimpy little outfits no problem but when it comes to a gown, and just moving, that's so hard! Let alone dancing! I just don't want to trip and fall."
