Brad Pitt's The Tree of Life Wins At Cannes , Kirsten Dunst Bags The Best Actress Award

Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life took home the Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) for best film this year at Cannes Film Festival. The movie stars Sean Penn and Brad Pitt.

Dig this, the persona nan-grata of Cannes, director Lars Von Trier produced a best-actress with his film, Melancholia in the name of... drum-rolls... Kirstin Dunst!
Atleast, her nudity... reaped an award. Or maybe Hitler's spirit did something to make it happen? Ha?! LOL
What happened to Alessandra De Rossi's Busong?  Hmm, standing ovation - nothing more. :)

Here are the complete list of winners:
Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) for best film: "The Tree of Life" directed by Terrence Malick (United States)
Grand Prix runner-up prize: "Once Upon A Time In Anatolia" directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey) and "The Kid With A Bike" directed by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne (Belgium)

Kirsten Dunst used to be a regular on the Hollywood party scene, but these days she'd rather go on trips across Europe with her family and friends.

She said: "I'm planning to drive through Switzerland and look for other springs; it's fun to do something other than drink a bottle of wine, to find things that adults can do that are fun. My dad is German, so he's all about bike rides and nature."

Kirsten Dunst loves taking road trips because she doesn't know where she's going to end up.

She said: "I've been on a road trip with my dad through Germany before, and one with my girlfriends across the US. I would do that again. It's fun to explore, and get lost and not know where you're going to stay."

However, the 28-year-old star is enjoying being settled at the moment and getting to spend time with her friends and family.

She added in an interview with WWD: "I was gone for so long working, I missed everybody, and so I've been living at my mom's house all fall."

There's no better place to scope out Hollywood beauty secrets than at the World Series of red carpet events. Check out stars like Jennifer Lopez, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman, whose flawless Oscar beauty never ceases to amaze.

Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman was a stand-out at the 2009 Academy Awards in an unconventional pastel Rodarte evening gown. Her make-up was designed to highlight the soft floral hue of the chiffon dress. Natalie's eyes were bordered with a deep purple and faded into a soft lilac shadow.

Beyonce
Beyonce is never one to shy away from dramatic beauty looks, and for that we love her. The starlet's cat eye at the 2005 Academy Awards was intensified with a metallic line and false lashes. Beyonce drew attention to her high cheek bones by lining them with red and highlighting the apples with white shimmering powder.

Kirsten Dunst Says NYC Has Really Changed

Kirsten Dunst Says NYC Has Really Changed

Well, she might refuse to answer any Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Swift dating questions, but here is Kirsten Dunst talking about how now NYC is such a safe place it’s like Disneyland. I don’t know if I would go that far, but it certainly isn’t the pit of crime and danger that some people make it out to be.
“I remember when I was younger, driving around New York with my mom and going to auditions. I’d be like, ‘Mom drive us by the hookies!’ Hookers. I called them hookies.

“There was one street in the Meatpacking District where they all lined up. So I was definitely a part of the dangerous New York when I was younger.
“But now I feel like New York is so safe. I can walk down the street by myself. When I was younger, my mom was like, ‘Hold my hand!’ It was always a little sketchy. But now Times Square is like Disneyland.”
Kirsten also talked about how she listens to her best friends when it comes to their dating advice.
“I know to go for the good dudes. I think if your girlfriends don’t like him, it’s probably for a good reason. You’re not picking up on something.”
Is Kirsten right? Should your girlfriends’ opinions play heavily into the decision of who you date?

Kirsten Dunst At The All Good Things NYC Premiere

Kirsten Dunst At The All Good Things NYC Premiere

Kirsten Dunst sure does clean up nice! Not that she doesn’t look great dressed down too – it’s just that we so rarely have the chance to see her on the red carpet! But in all seriousness, we haven’t seen pictures of Kirsten at an event since July.

Yesterday, the low-key actress celebrated the premiere of All Good Things in NYC. The plot sounds amazing:
All Good Things is a love story and murder mystery based on the most notorious unsolved murder case in New York history. The original screenplay uses newly discovered facts, court records and speculation as the foundation for an imaginative spellbinding story of family, obsession, love and loss.
Right up my alley! Fascinating story, I’m definitely interested in checking it out.
Will this movie be big for Kirsten? She kind of fell off the radar after Bring It On.
